Rivers in the Eagle Mountains
Scattered mountain village Rivers in the Eagle Mountains is situated in the valley of the creek Říčky and Hluboký, on the slopes of Anenský, Zakletý and Pustý hills.
The village was founded at the beginning of the 17th century as a logging settlement.
The dominant feature of Říčky is the late Baroque church of the Holy Trinity from 1790-92 standing on the site of the original wooden chapel. There are also preserved mountain timbered cottages, which serve mainly for recreational purposes.
At the southeastern foot of the Zakletý hill lies the ski resort Říčky. The Zakletý Hill, or the crossing of hiking trails Pěticestí, which is nearby, is also an ideal starting point for cross-country skiers to the entire main ridge of the Orlické Mountains. In summer, there are marked hiking and cycling trails for hikers and cyclists. The Kunštátská Chapel, the peat bog under the Pětirozcestí crossroads, Komáří vrch, Anenský vrch and the Hanička Fortress are popular destinations. A nice hike is also through the Julinka valley of the Říčky stream to the Hamernický bridge.
